Questions, answered.
The honest version of everything people ask us about our milk and ghee. If something is not here, we would rather you just ask.
A2 Milk
What is A2 milk?
A2 milk comes from cows that carry only the A2 form of the beta-casein protein. It is a description of a protein and a kind of cow, not a brand or a process.
Is A2 milk the same as lactose free milk?
No. A2 milk still contains lactose, the natural milk sugar. A2 refers only to the protein, so it is not a solution for lactose intolerance.
Which cows produce A2 milk?
Indigenous Indian breeds such as Sahiwal, Gir, and Tharparkar naturally give A2 milk. Many crossbred and exotic herds also carry the A1 protein.
Is A2 milk easier to digest?
Some people find A2 milk sits lighter and report better comfort, and a few small studies point that way. The effect is modest and varies, so we describe it honestly rather than as a promise.
Can I buy PYAAS A2 milk right now?
Our A2 milk is pre-launch, launching in Lucknow from August 2026. You can join the waitlist to be notified, and our A2 Cow Ghee from the same herds is buyable today.
How do you confirm milk is really A2?
A2 refers to the beta-casein protein in the milk, which comes from the breed of the cow, not something added later. We source from herds selected for A2 milk and keep it single-origin, so it is never blended into an anonymous pool.
Ghee
Is PYAAS ghee available to buy now?
Yes. PYAAS A2 Cow Ghee is our one fully launched product and is buyable today, while our milk SKUs are still pre-launch.
What is bilona ghee?
Bilona is the traditional curd-first method of making ghee. Milk is cultured into curd, the curd is churned into butter, and the butter is simmered into ghee.
What makes PYAAS ghee A2?
It is made from the A2 cows in our named, single-origin Gonda herds (Holstein Friesian and Sahiwal), the same cows behind our A2 milk launching in August 2026.
Is the ghee tested before it is sold?
Yes. Every batch of our A2 Cow Ghee is quality checked for purity before it is packed. As our lab partnership and certificate numbers are finalised, we will publish them so the checks are independent of us.
How should I store PYAAS ghee?
Keep it in a cool, dry place with a clean, dry spoon. Ghee is shelf stable and does not need refrigeration when handled cleanly.
Why is good A2 ghee more expensive than regular ghee?
Traditional, curd-first, single-origin ghee from named A2 herds yields less per litre of milk and is slower to make, so it costs more than cream-based commodity ghee.
Dairy Nutrition
Is A2 milk more nutritious than regular milk?
Their core nutrition, fat, protein, and calcium, is broadly similar. The difference is the beta-casein form, which is about digestive comfort for some people rather than a big nutritional gap.
Is ghee healthy?
Ghee is a traditional cooking fat with a high smoke point, and it has a place in a balanced diet. Like any fat it is calorie dense, so it is best used with sense, not in unlimited amounts.
Does ghee contain lactose?
Ghee is clarified butter, so most of the milk solids including lactose are removed during making. The traces left are very low, though it is not certified lactose free.
Can A2 milk help if dairy upsets me?
It may feel gentler for some people, but it is not a cure for a true lactose intolerance or a dairy allergy. If dairy genuinely does not agree with you, treat A2 as comfort, not medicine.
Is full cream milk better than toned milk?
Neither is simply better. Full cream has more fat and energy, while toned milk is lighter. The right one depends on your diet and needs.
Freshness & Delivery
When will PYAAS milk be delivered to my area?
Milk is pre-launch, so we are not delivering it yet. Join the waitlist with your pincode and we will notify you when we reach your area.
How do I order PYAAS ghee?
Our A2 Cow Ghee is buyable now from the product page. Milk SKUs show an honest "pre-launch" status with a Notify Me option instead of a cart.
How fresh will the milk be at launch?
The plan is single-origin, batch-based milk that moves quickly from a named farm to you, rather than milk pooled and stored for long periods.
How will I know when milk launches in my city?
Use the Notify Me option on any milk SKU and add your email and pincode. We will reach out when we go live near you, with no spam in between.
Do you deliver ghee across India?
Ghee ships to the regions listed at checkout. If your area is not covered yet, reach out and we will tell you honestly where things stand.
Traceability & Quality
What does traceable milk actually mean?
It means you can follow a product back to its source, the named farm, the single-origin batch, and the quality checks behind it, usually through a code on the pack.
Why can most milk not be traced?
Most milk is pooled from hundreds of unnamed sources and blended, so by the time it is packed there is no single farm left to point to.
What does a PYAAS pack code show?
A code, often a QR, ties the pack to the named farm it came from, its single-origin batch, and confirmation that the batch passed its checks.
How do you test for quality?
Every batch goes through quality testing, things like fat, solids, and basic safety screening, before it is cleared. A batch that does not pass does not get packed.
Can I really name the farm my product came from?
Yes, that is the whole point. We work with specific partner farms with a name, district, and herd, rather than an anonymous collection network.
Do you publish certificate and license numbers?
We only display real credentials. We never fabricate certificate numbers or batch IDs, so anything shown is genuine and anything not yet available is simply hidden.
Sustainability
What does sustainable dairy mean to PYAAS?
Dairy that is fair to cows, to farmers, and to the land at the same time. It is a balance of deliberate choices, not a single label.
How do you support the farmers you work with?
We work with named partner farms and keep milk single-origin rather than squeezing an anonymous pool for the lowest price, which helps farmers earn more fairly and reliably.
Is dairy bad for the environment?
Dairy has a real footprint from feed, water, and emissions. Honest sustainability is about reducing harm with practical choices, not claiming zero impact.
Why use indigenous breeds?
Indigenous breeds suit Indian conditions, naturally give A2 milk, and are not engineered purely for extreme yield, which fits a slower, more honest way of farming.
Does staying traceable limit how fast you grow?
Yes, and we accept that. Keeping milk single-origin and tied to named farms is slower and costlier than blending everything, but it keeps the whole system accountable.
Still wondering about something?
We would honestly rather answer a real question than leave you guessing. Ask us anything about the milk, the ghee, or how we work.
